Kaze Responds To Suggestions It’s Time For Change At Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze has responded to suggestions that recent results is warranted a time for change in the technical team.

Chiefs have lost four of their last five games in all competitions and suffered their worst Soweto Derby defeat in 25 years, with a 3-0 loss to Orlando Pirates in their home ground.

It now moved them 11 points behind Pirates in the title race, despite having a game in hand, it appears there’s now slim chances of genuinely competing for the last trophy on offer for the club this season.

“It’s not up to me but I believe that we’re here because we’re trusted by management,” he said.

“It’s true that we’ve been in a series of bad results, but I believe there are things that have worked in the past few months.

“We need to remind ourselves, our players what has worked in the first half of the league and probably come back to the basics of football – how well we defended, if we don’t score, don’t concede, things like that, it’s the only way to go forward.”

Chiefs were eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup, Nedbank Cup and potentially the league race in the run of defeats in February.
