Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster registered an assist during Burnley FC’s 3–1 defeat away to Fulham in the Premier League over the weekend.
Burnley remain stuck in the relegation zone, having accumulated just 20 points from 31 matches so far this season.
For most other South African players abroad, it proved to be a relatively uneventful weekend, with limited involvement and minimal impact at their respective clubs.
Elsewhere in England, Luke Le Roux endured his eighth consecutive match without playing time, staying on the bench as Portsmouth FC suffered a heavy 6–1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers, where Tylon Smith is on the books. However, Smith himself was absent from QPR’s match-day squad.
In Austria, both Yusuf Maart and Antonio van Wykm came on in the second half as Ried lost 3-2 to BW Linz. Meanwhile, in Denmark, Gift Links featured 90 minutes in Aaurhus’ 0-0 draw with Brondby.
In Belgium, Cassius Mailula remained an unused substitute as KV Kortrijk lost 4–1 to Francs Borains. Meanwhile, Shandre Campbell saw limited action, playing just 10 minutes in Club Brugge KV’s win over KV Mechelen.
In Germany, Bafana Bafana centre-back Ime Okon featured briefly, playing only a single minute as Hannover 96 secured a 1–0 victory against Eintracht Braunschweig.
Over in Portugal, Siphephelo Sithole made a short appearance, playing 17 minutes as CD Tondela were held to a goalless draw by AVS Futebol SAD.
In the United States’ Major League Soccer, Mbekezeli Mbokazi was part of the Chicago Fire FC side that claimed a 2–1 win over Philadelphia Union, which includes Olwethu Makhanya. Puso Dithejane remained on the bench for Chicago.
Meanwhile, Bongokuhle Hlongwane featured for Minnesota United FC, playing 19 minutes in their 0–0 draw with Seattle Sounders FC.
