Lebitso – We’ll Take It Until The End

Orlando Pirates defender Thabiso Lebitso has weighed in on the league title race after suggestions that it’s gone – having dropped crucial points against Siwelele.

Pirates lost two points in a frantic fixture at Orlando Stadium in which Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ricardo Goss pulled off a staggering 11 saves in a Man of the Match display to deny the Buccaneers top spot.

Sundowns took advantage by moving top of the table with the win over Marumo Gallants a couple of days later, which the Soweto giants have now taken back with a 6-0 thumping over TS Galaxy – albeit with a game more played.

But there’s now been suggestions that Sundowns – who are chasing their ninth successive league crown, while now run away with it – as they have done in seasons gone by.

“The league is a marathon, obviously we’ll have hiccups here and there, but looking at what people are saying, I don’t think it’s more important, we’re still left with eight games to play, so if people are saying the league is done, I don’t think it’s done,” Lebitso said.

“We won 6-0 now there’s a different perspective of what they see, so it’s a marathon, we push it as much as we can and take it until the end.”

Lebitso, who made the bench against the Rockets will be aiming to get back into the starting line-up when Pirates take on Golden Arrows upon their return to the football in the first week of April.
