Chicago Fire Star On His Role To Help Mbokazi And Dithejane

Chicago Fire midfielder Dje D’Avilla says his experiences of settling into life in the United States of America after moving to Chicago Fire are helping him to guide Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Puso Dithejane.

The trio have struck a notable bond together since their arrival from Orlando Pirates and TS Galaxy respectively – with the Ivorian midfielder pictured often on their social media posts – one that went viral saw the 22-year-old enjoying the Maskandi genre music in his car as he took the South African pair to training.

While Mbokazi has gone straight into the starting line-up alongside the Ivory Coast talent, Dithejane remains biding his time for his full debut in Major League Soccer.

“I think with Mbokazi, it was more feeling [towards him]. Even when he was not here, I was just watching the game when I was at home, but I know we’re going to have a connection,” he said.

“Then when I met him, taking him to go outside to show him the city, don’t leave him alone because when I come, I was like, okay, little bit alone without my family here. I know it’s a little bit hard. Then [I told myself I need to] stay closer to him and Puso.”

Dithejane will be aiming to make his debut when they take on Nashville on Sunday at 02h00 on Sunday morning.
