Simba SC head coach Steve Barker has been named Coach of the Month March – bagging the award back-to-back.
The Red Lions had a good run in March, winning three games and drawing two, managing to keep pressure on Young Africans SC.
Following the great run, Barker was rewarded with the NBC Premier League Coach of the Month award for the second successive time after winning it in February as well.
Simba scored seven goals in the five games they played and conceded only two goals. They currently trail league leaders Young Africans by nine points but have two games in hand, including Thursday afternoon’s clash against eighth-placed TRA United SC away from home.
Barker aims to bring glory days back to Simba, who last won a league title in the 2020/21 season.
Overall, Barker has been in charge of 18 games at Simba, losing just two. His side have collected nine wins, and seven draws since Barker joined the club from Stellenbosch FC in December.
