Freese Reveals Magesi’s Major ‘Worrying Factor’

Magesi FC head coach Allan Freese has pointed to a “worrying factor” for his team as their relegation battle intensifies toward the end of the season.

Dikwena tša Meetse were handed a heavy 4-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in their Betway Premiership clash at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.

The loss leaves them rooted at the bottom of the table in 16th place with 17 points from 24 matches, two points adrift of 15th-placed Orbit College and 14th-placed Marumo Gallants.

Freese admitted that even if his side manages to close the gap on the teams above them, their poor goal difference remains a major concern due to the number of goals they have conceded.

“Yeah, but then we were speaking about it on the bench, that it’s a worrying factor,” said Freese.

“That’s why I’m saying, why are we conceding so much now all of a sudden? It becomes a worrying factor now for everybody.”

Magesi will return to action on Sunday when they host Durban City, aiming to bounce back after back-to-back defeats.

“Every day [games] get fewer and fewer,” added Freese.

“So, but there’s still other games to play. We can never know what’s going to happen. So, now we’re going to go prepare for the one game on Sunday.

“That is the one thing we must go and prepare for. It’s the one game on Sunday.”
