FCSB and Bafana Bafana defender Siyabonga Ngezana made his first appearance since January 2026, coming off the bench in the 78th minute.
Ngezana reportedly refused to undergo surgery after suffering a meniscus injury and was on the mend since the beginning of the year.

The 28-year-old last played for FCSB in January in the Europa League clash against Turkish giants Fenerbahçe; since then, he has been sidelined.
His return to action saw FCSB pick up an important 3-2 victory on the road against Farul Constanța for their second win on the trot on Monday.
In the previous match, they thumped SC Oțelul Galați 4-0 as they fight to avoid relegation in the Romanian SuperLiga playoffs.
They currently sit first, two points ahead of second-placed UTA having accumulated three wins, with one draw and a loss in five outings. Only the top two teams will keep their top-flight status intact at the end of matchday 10.
Against Farul ConstanÈ›a, FCSB fell behind to Eduard Radaslavescu’s 43rd minute strike before the visitors responded with three goals in the first 40 minutes of the second period.
João Paulo equalised in the 56th minute before they took the lead in the 62nd minute via Juri Cisotti. FCSB then took an unassailable 3-1 advantage through Florin Tanase two minutes later.
It was however a tense finish as Constanța pulled one back in the 72nd minute by Denis Alibec, but it was not enough as FCSB held on to walk away victorious.
Ngezana looked to be on the verge of sitting out the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup after missing Bafana Bafana’s international friendlies against Panama, but his return has increased his chances of being selected again.
The former Kaizer Chiefs academy product was a part of Hugo Broos’ 2025 Bafana Bafana squad at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco as they bowed out in the Last 16, going down 2-1 to Cameroon.
South Africa has been pitted in Group A against co-hosts Mexico, Korea Republic and the Czech Republic at the global showpiece in USA, Mexico and Canada.
