De Reuck Honoured For Impressive Displays

Simba SC captain Rushine De Reuck secured the Player of the Tournament and Man of the Match honour after their Union Cup triumph over fierce rivals Young Africans SC.

De Reuck, 30, who recently signed an extenstion with the club has been in imperious form since joining the Tanzanian club after parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns which saw him also earn the leadership role at the club.

Alongside Neo Maema and led by Steve Barker, the South African trio secured their first title since arrival – whilst also playing a major role in the first Kariakoo Derby win in over three years after the 1-0 win on Wednesday evening.

De Reuck has been a commanding presence in the defence and it was capped off with the two awards, further establishing himself as a leading figure at the East African giants.

Simba are currently second in the league, five points behind Yanga – with 11 rounds of fixture remaining before the 2025/26 campaign comes to a halt.

De Reuck has been capped 17 times by the senior South Africa national team, with his last cap coming under Hugo Broos back in 2022 against Angola.
