Links Inspires Aarhus To League Glory, Maseko Sees Red 

Gift Links made a massive impact this past weekend, helping Aarhus clinch the league title, while Thapelo Maseko endured a tougher outing, seeing red in Cyprus.

Links was the standout performer in Denmark, providing a crucial assist as Aarhus defeated Brondby 2-0 to secure the 2025/26 Danish Superliga Championship.

Meanwhile, in Cyprus, Thapelo Maseko was given his marching orders as AEL Limassol suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Ol. Nicosia. His South African teammate, Luther Singh, was absent from the matchday squad for the third consecutive game. 

Elsewhere in the Cypriot league, Mihlali Mayambela saw 12 minutes of action in Omonia’s 1-1 draw with AEK Larnaca.

In Austria, Yusuf Maart completed the full 90 minutes for Ried in their 1-0 loss to Wolfsberger, while fellow countryman Antonio van Wyk featured for 22 minutes.

Over in Germany, Bafana Bafana defender Ime Okon was introduced in the second half, playing 22 minutes in Hannover 96’s 2-2 draw with Bochum.

In England, striker Lyle Foster played 22 minutes as Burnley played to a 2-2 stalemate against Aston Villa.

In Norway, Samukelo Kabini played the full match for Molde FK, though his side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Tromso.

In Saudi Arabia, Elias Mokwana featured for 27 minutes in Al Hazem’s 2-2 draw with Al Najma. Elsewhere, Mohau Nkota was not part of the traveling squad for Al-Ettifaq’s 5-0 win over Al Khaleej.

Across the Atlantic in the MLS, Mbekezeli Mbokazi remained an unused substitute for Chicago Fire in their 3-1 loss to New York Red Bulls, while his teammate Puso Dithejane played 30 minutes after coming on in the second half. 

Meanwhile, Olwethu Makhanya completed the full 90 minutes as Philadelphia Union fell 2-1 to New England Revolution.

Finally, in Libya, Thembinkosi Lorch was forced off in the first half after picking up an injury. Despite his early exit, Al-Ittihad managed to secure a 2-1 victory over Al Madina Tripoli SC.
