The 2026 Gauteng Sasol League will get off to an electrifying start with Kaizer Chiefs Ladies hosting Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies at Tsakane Stadium on Sunday, 17 May.
This will be the Chiefs Ladies’ first official match as the Glamour Girls enter a competition that has been the driving force behind women’s football development in South Africa with the primary purpose of gaining promotion to the Hollywoodbet Super League next season.

Chiefs took a significant step in the club’s history on 31 March 2026, when they officially launched the Kaizer Chiefs Ladies team in Daveyton.
This was after a collaboration with the Springs Home Sweepers under the tutelage of Joseph Mkhonza, a former Chiefs player and respected coach.
Head coach Unathi Mabena has already expressed how excited her players are as their debut draws close.
“The players are excited, but naturally there is also anxiety because this is such a big occasion for everyone involved,” she told the club’s website.
“To represent the biggest football brand in the country is an honour and the players understand the responsibility that comes with wearing this badge.
“We also have to be realistic and manage expectations. We are facing a team that has been competing consistently in this environment for a long time and has produced strong performances over the years.
“For us, this is the beginning of a process. We are building something, and moments like these are part of that journey.”
Their next match will see them take a short trip to Bonaero Park in Kempton Park for a tie against M.U.S.A United on Saturday, May 23.
