Siwelele FC left-back Lyle Lakay is set for the exit door when his contract comes to an end at the conclusion of June.

iDiski Times can confirm that Lakay will leave Siwelele at the end of June as his contract will be coming to an end after the Bloemfontein-based outfit decided against renewing Lakay’s contract.

The 2021/22 PSL Defender of the Season played just over 300 minutes for Siwelele this past season which wasn’t good enough for the 34-year-old and the club.

His exit will make him a free agent and will be allowed to join a team of his choice immediately after the 30th of June. He joins the likes of Samir Nurkovic who will leave Siwelele at the end of June.

Lakay has massive experience in topflight football as he has played over 400 games for the likes of SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns, Cape Town City and Siwelele.

He’s won five league titles, one league cup, one MTN8 and one Nedbank Cup, all with Sundowns.
