Saudi Arabian Pro League side El-Ettifaq have confirmed that Mohau Nkota had to undergo a knee surgery.
Nkota, 21, joined the Saudi giants ahead of the 2024/25 season and had a lively start at his new club.
However, Nkota’s second half of the season turned out more difficult after he suffered the loss of his father in February, which saw him miss a few games.
In March, he was in and out of the squad, but he had returned to the line-up in April, starting four of the club’s five games.
Unfortunately, though, he picked up an injury late in the season and had to undergo knee surgery, his club confirmed.
“Mohau Nkota, underwent successful knee surgery yesterday,” Ettifaq stated.
“The club’s family wishes the player a speedy recovery and complete wellness, and a quick return to the fields to continue his journey with the team.”
Nkota, who was part of Hugo Broos’ selection for the AFCON, also lost his place in the Bafana Bafana setup, and did not make the Belgian’s 32-man preliminary squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
