Newly promoted Kruger United have responded to rumours regarding the sale of the club’s status and reports about player exits.

Kruger secured automatic promotion to the Betway Premiership after a spectacular campaign that ended with them sitting at the summit of the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The Mpumalanga-based outfit hit peak form during the crucial tail-end of the season, ultimately amassing an impressive 62 points from 30 league fixtures to cross the finish line and lift the coveted title.

However, rumours have been circulating that the club intends to sell its top-flight status. Meanwhile, this website also reported that Kagiso Malinga, Celimpilo Ngema, Khethukuthula Ndlovu, Georges Lata, Kabelo Seriba, and Philasande Manqele were all set to part ways with the team.

Kruger has since issued a statement responding to these developments.

“Kruger United FC has noted with concern the false and misleading information currently circulating on various platforms regarding the alleged sale of the club, as well as reports claiming that certain players have been released,” the club announced via a statement.

“The club would like to categorically state that these reports are completely false and without any factual basis. Kruger United FC has not been sold, nor has the club made any official announcements regarding the release of players.

“We urge our supporters, and the general public not to believe or share unverified information.

“All official club announcements and updates will only be communicated through Kruger United FC’s official communication channels.”
