Chippa United have signed Kenyan goalkeeper Brian Bwire after he left Polokwane City on a free at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Latest information reaching this publication, is that the Chilli Boys have completed the signing of Bwire who joined Rise and Shine in 2024/25 from Tusker FC in his native Kenya.
The 26-year-old made 18 appearances in 2025/26 season and conceded 17 goals.
Bwire is the first choice of the Kenyan national team and played the FIFA World Cup qualifiers but played bit-part in the previous AFCON.
The Chilli Boys had Dumisani Msibi as their first choice after Nigerian international goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali left the club in January after AFCON.
Having secured the services of highly-rated left back Imraan Jones, Bwire has now been added to the roster ahead of the 2026/27 season for the Brandon Truter-led side.
They also however released Lukhanyo July, Xolani Sithole, Ayabulela Konqobe, Bievenu Eva Nga, Somila Ntsundwana, Bongani Sam, who have all left and Malebogo Modise – who will return to Mamelodi Sundowns as his loan deal expired.
