Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt was pleased to have a full week to prepare for the second leg of their CAF Champions League quarter-final second leg against Simba SC.
Hunt was speaking for Dar es Salaam ahead of Saturday’s game, where Chiefs hold a 4-0 advantage after their emphatic win at home in the first leg.
In response to a question at the pre-match presser from iDiski Times about having a full week to prepare for the game, Hunt said it was good, and they were able to put in some extra training sessions with no mid-week game to play.
“It’s the first time we haven’t had a mid-week game, you know,” Hunt said.
“Before the CAF game, we played last week Wednesday, before the Saturday game.”
Hunt also said that the travel wasn’t too much of a disruption, as the flight to Tanzania was only 3-4 hours.
“I don’t think it effects us as all, obviously we had a travel day yesterday. So ja, I don’t think it affects us at all, we had a couple of days of training, which we haven’t had, so it was good.”
