Durban City FC have announced the permanent transfer of industrious midfielder Kyle Jurgens on a five-year deal from Stellenbosch FC.

The reigning Nedbank Cup champions fed off interest from Mamelodi Sundowns who made contact with Stellenbosch over the midfield talent.
On Wednesday, the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit confirmed that they had captured Jurgens.

“Durban City FC is delighted to announce the permanent signing of midfielder Kyle Jurgens from Stellenbosch FC, with the 22-year-old committing his future to the Club on a five-year contract.
“Jurgens initially arrived at Durban City on loan ahead of the 2025/26 season and quickly settled into the squad, establishing himself as a key figure in midfield. His consistency, intelligence, and control in the centre of the pitch made him one of the standout performers in the Club’s historic campaign.
“Across the season, he made 32 appearances in all competitions, accumulating 2,694 minutes of action as Durban City secured a Top 8 finish in the Betway Premiership campaign and went on to lift the 2026 Nedbank Cup.
“The decision to secure Jurgens on a long-term deal reflects the Club’s continued commitment to building a competitive and sustainable squad capable of challenging at the highest level, both domestically and on the continental stage.”
Jurgens will now look forward to his next chapter in Blue and White as they embark on continental success having qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup after their Ke Yona Cup triumph.
