Sekhukhune United duo Daniel Cardoso and Renaldo Leaner have left the club this week after their respective options with not taken.

Cardoso, 37, spent four seasons at the club after joining from Kaizer Chiefs – and earned the captain’s armband and featured 126 games for the club across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Leaner comes a major surprise, as one of the top goalkeeping performers in the league during the 2025/26 season, where he broke into the senior national team set-up.

Leaner joined the club in 2023 from Maritzburg United, and the iKamva Academy product, went on to feature 45 times for the club, with 15 clean sheets to his name.

Both looked poised to remain at the club as part of the new-look set-up under head coach Cedric Kaze – but sources have confirmed they left pre-season this week after the expiry of their contracts.
