The Premier Soccer League (PSL) on Friday released the nominees for the 2025/26 PSL Awards, with Betway Premiership champions Orlando Pirates unsurprisingly bagging the most nods.

It was an exhilarating previous campaign which saw Pirates end Mamelodi Sundowns’ eight-year league dominance to clinch the Betway Premiership title on the last day of the campaign with a 2-0 victory over relegated ORBIT College.

While Masandawana failed to win any trophy on the domestic scene, they did capture the biggest prize on the continent in the form of the CAF Champions League trophy.

It was a drought season for Kaizer Chiefs who also did not win any trophy though they claimed their highest league finish since the 2019/20 campaign, finishing third to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup next season.

Durban City emerged as the Nedbank Cup winners after overcoming TS Galaxy 2-1. The KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit will also compete in Confed Cup competition for the first time in the club’s history.

The Buccaneers claimed a domestic treble, 14 years since they last repeated that feat and hence their dominance in the nominees.

Departed Relebohile Mofokeng, who has just penned a four-year deal with Belgian Jupiler Pro League Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, is expected to be the biggest winner when the winners are finally announced at the end of this month.
