Richards Bay FC have announced the appointment of Ronnie Gabriel as the club’s sole head coach following the departure of Papi Zothwane.

Gabriel, who has been with the club for several years, served as co-head coach alongside Zothwane for the past 18 months.

Following the expiry of Zothwane’s contract, the two parties parted ways, with the former Richards Bay mentor subsequently joining Sekhukhune United as an assistant coach.

Gabriel has now been entrusted with the head coach role, while former Bidvest Wits defender Siboniso Gumede will continue as his assistant coach.

“Richards Bay Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Ronnie Gabriel as the Club’s new Head Coach for the 2026/2027 Season with an option to renew,” the club announced via a statement.

“Siboniso ‘Jomo’ Gumede will continue as the Assistant Coach. The Club wishes them success in their new responsibilities.”

The Natal Rich Boyz will be looking to improve in the upcoming campaign after finishing 11th in the league last season with 34 points from 30 matches.
