South African coach Steve Barker has continued to make his mark in Tanzania after guiding Simba SC to their second trophy under his leadership.
Barker secured his second piece of silverware with the Tanzanian giants after they defeated 10-men Azam FC 1-0 in the CRDB Bank Federation Cup final on Saturday.
Experienced midfielder Clatous Chama scored the decisive goal in the 62nd minute, finding the back of the net with the only goal of the match to hand Simba a hard-fought victory and another domestic title.
It marks Barker’s second trophy since taking charge of the club. The former Stellenbosch FC coach lifted his first piece of silverware in April when he guided Simba to victory over rivals Young Africans in the Muungano Cup.

The Federation Cup triumph provides further evidence of Barker’s impressive start to life in Tanzanian football after making an immediate impact at one of the country’s biggest clubs.
Despite the cup success, Simba narrowly missed out on the Tanzanian Premier League title, finishing second behind Young Africans last week.
Barker’s side ended the league campaign on a remarkable 25-match unbeaten run but fell just short in the title race.
