Mamelodi Sundowns teenager Siyabonga Mabena looks set for a surprise loan move to AmaTuks in a bid for regular first-team football.
The mercurial talent suffered a setback at the club over the last 12 months due to injury and competition in the first team, and will now be aiming to get back to the form that made him one of the most exciting talents in the country.
Sources within the Motsepe Foundation Championship side have confirmed Mabena is one of several other DDC stars who could a temporary switch to the club, which includes the return of his Amajita teammate Jody Ah Shene.
In 2025/26 Mabena only made six senior appearances for Sundowns, but his last coming in September 2009, as most of his appearances came in the DStv Diski Challenge, where Masandawana finished second behind Orlando Pirates.
Meanwhile, AmaTuks have replaced head coach Kwanele Kopo with former Sundowns coach Michael Loftman, who was part of Rulani Mokwena’s technical team during his stint at the club.
The Tshwane-based outfit finished the previous season in 11th place with 35 points after 30 games and will now be aiming for a potential promotion challenge with some key additions to the playing squad.
