Orlando Pirates have reached out to Cape Town City for teenage sensation Emile Witbooi.
iDiski Times can confirm that the Buccaneers have made contact over signing Witbooi; but CTC stood firm on their asking price, which is around €1 million (R18.7 million).

But Pirates felt that fee was too high and talks haven’t progressed further between the two sides since then.
While City have been consistent with their asking price for Witbooi, Pirates see him as a perfect replacement for Relebohile Mofokeng, who recently joined the Belgium side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
However, the asking price could be a stumble as negotiations between both sides are currently on hold.
Witbooi, 17, has started the pre-season with Cape Town City on Tuesday ahead of the new 2026/27 Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign.
The teenage sensation had a good first senior season in the MFC, and was nominated for the Motsepe Foundation Championship Player’s Player of the Season during the recently released PSL awards nominees.
