He helped the club reach the promotional playoffs but they fell short, with Milford FC instead getting promoted to the Betway Premiership.
On Tuesday, City added Timm to their already extensive exit list, as they prepare for their second season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship under new coach Andries Ulderink.
“Cape Town City bids farewell to Miguel Timm following the expiry of his contract,” the club stated.
“Time and again, Miguel stepped up when we needed him most, giving everything for the badge and the Club.
“You’ll always be part of the City family, Miguel, and we wish you nothing but the best for the next chapter.”
The club has parted ways with Sifiso Ngobeni, Njabulo Ngcobo and Siphamandla Dondolo in defence as well Keagan Dolly and Dzenan Zajmovic upfront.
Meanwhile, Jaedin Rhodes has departed for a transfer to Austria with SV Ried, with Gabriel Amato and Emile Witbooi also strongly being linked with exits.
