Kaizer Chiefs have clarified the upcoming friendly match at Lifofane FC will be played by the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side.
Amakhosi have returned from their trip to Spain, and are currently preparing for their friendly match against Scottland FC in the Toyota Cup on Sunday.
Following 1-1 draws with Scottish powerhouse Rangers and Saudi Pro League outfit Al Kholood, Chiefs ended their tour with a narrow 2-1 defeat to Spanish LaLiga side Elche CF.
The match against Scottland is seen as the last big friendly game ahead of the Betway Premiership opener against Kruger United away on 1 August.
But there had been some confusion, with Lifofane announcing they will face Amakhosi in friendly match on 2 August – a day after the Betway Premiership opener.
However, Chiefs now confirmed that not the first team but the reserve side have been invited to face the Lesotho Premier League side.
“The Kaizer Chiefs team invited to play Lifofane FC on 02 August 2026 is the Kaizer Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge team,” the club stated.
