Durban City have completed the signing of Mali left-back Alou Doumbia, who joined the club ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 23-year-old has been targeted by the club for over a year now and finally secured his services joining from Djoliba – where he established himself as a key figure at the Mali giants.
Doumbia arrives after the club missed out on retaining left-back Terrence Mashego for the upcoming season, after his loan move to Stellenbosch from Mamelodi Sundowns.
He’s penned a two-year deal with an option to extend by a further year, as he brings much-needed quality to new head coach Khalil Ben Youssef’s squad who will be competiting in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.
The Nedbank Cup champions have been active in the market going into the new season with Kyle Jurgens signing from Stellenbosch
Tashreeq Morris, Bandile Shandu, Gaston Sirino, Gomolemo Khoto as free agents and Seth Green have also been acquired.
