Sekhukhune United assistant coach Paulus Masehe has clarified Bright Ndlovu’s position at the club saying the player will be an important finisher for the side this season.
Ndlovu, 26, is in his second season with Babina and was mostly used as a center-back last season. However towards the end of the campaign he took on goal scoring responsibilities, a position he enjoyed at former side Kruger United whilst they were still in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
He managed five goals and an assist last season as Sekhukhune finished in fifth. Ndlovu was also the difference in the side’s 2026/27 Betway Premiership opener at home against Durban City on Saturday and was also on target in the preseason tournament Mafori Cup that the Limpopo side won in July.
Masehe was in charge of Sekhukhune dugout in Seshego in the absence of head coach Cedric Kaze owing to a lack of work permit for the Burundi national. He said Ndlovu is going to be important this season especially because of how the side wants to play.
“To be honest, for us, he is a very, very important player,” said Masehe.
“More especially with the way that we want to play, the vertical way that we want to play,”
“His presence in front of goals, his physicality in front of goals and also his finishing because in half chances, at least we know Ndlovu will try by all means to get something out of it, and we need him.”
“He’s a very important player for us.”
