Puso Dithejane netted a brace in his side’s 2-1 win over Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup on Friday night.
The former TS Galaxy winger has been in brilliant form since the resumption of football after the 2026 FIFA World Cup and written headlines in the absence of the injured Mbekezeli Mbokazi.

This past night, Dithejane was rewarded with a place in the starting XI against the Mexican side.
He scored the opener after 67 minutes with a composed shot from the edge of the box, but Azul equalised in the 81st minute via Nicolas Ibanez.
But Dithejane and Chicago had the last laugh, as the South African scored the late winner in the 93rd minute.
The win secured Fire a place in the quarter-finals of the Leagues Cup, as they now have three victories in a row.
Dithejane already shined with one assist (another wasn’t officially credited to him after a deflection in the shot) in the previous win over Santos Laguna and has now officially been involved in four goals for his new club.
