According to former PSL referee Victor Hlungwani, Mamelodi Sundowns striker Bennett Mokoena should’ve been shown a straight red card after his tackle on Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Ethan Chislett.

With the scores level at 1-1, Amakhosi went on the counter-attack after Mokoena was dispossessed of the ball.

In an attempt to win back possession, the Sundowns youngster tackled Chislett with referee Alfred Jelly Chavani waving play on though he did book Mokoena later on.

Speaking on Soccerzone, Hlungwani is of the opinion that Mokoena should’ve equally been given a straight red card for the dangerous tackle on the Chiefs player.

“Again, we talking of serious foul play,” he said.

“Look at it there, endangering the safety of an opponent.

“This is red card! Not a yellow card.

“So, incorrect decision [in giving yellow instead of red]. This is not right!
