Stellenbosch FC have confirmed that attacker Wonderboy Makhubu has joined Kruger United on a season-long loan with an option for a permanent move.
Makhubu,29, joined the Cape Winelands outfit in January this year but has found game-time hard to come by which has led to his exit.
“Stellenbosch FC can confirm that Wonderboy Makhubu has completed a season-long loan to Kruger United ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
“In terms of the loan agreement, newly promoted Kruger United retain the option to purchase Makhubu’s services on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
“The 29-year-old was named in United’s matchday squad for the first time on Tuesday and made his debut during their 2-0 Betway Premiership defeat to Durban City.
“He previously joined Stellenbosch in January and made 13 appearances across all competitions, scoring his solitary goal during a 1-1 league draw against TS Galaxy in March.
“The loan presents Wonderboy with an opportunity for regular first-team football, and the Club looks forward to seeing his continued growth over the course of the season.”
For Stellies, he made 13 appearances during which he picked up two red cards. He was already in the Kruger squad that lost 2-0 to Durban City on Tuesday night.
