Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz has confirmed that star signing Langelihle Phili suffered an ankle injury and will sidelined for around eight weeks.
Phili, 21, scored his first goal Amakhosi in their 1-1 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns and many fans were expecting more goals from the new signing.
However, Da Cruz confirmed that Phili will be absent for the foreseeable future.
“Phili is the bad news of this week, he got injured,” he told SuperSport TV.
“He will be out around eight weeks.
“But we trust in our available players.”
Chiefs take on Richards Bay this evening, having lost their last three consecutive ties at the Natal Richboys.
