Kaizer Chiefs Ladies striker Lumka Qhekeka believes anything is possible in terms of the side competing for promotion in their first season in women’s football semi-professional ranks.
The club was launched this season and are currently playing in Gauteng’s SAFA Women’s Provincial League where they currently in the top three with 49 points from 21 outings.

Should they win the provincial league, they will qualify for the SASOL League National playoffs where there are two spots up for grabs to be promoted to the Hollywoodbets Super League.
Speaking in a joint online press conference with German side Armina Bielefeld recently, Qhekeka said with how Amakhosazana have started in the league, anything is possible.
“On our end, I don’t want to count our eggs before they hatch,” Qhekeka answered an iDiski Times question about her side’s promotion chances.
“So, I’ll just say, we’re taking it one game at a time. But with the way we’ve been performing, it’s quite possible. Nothing is impossible. It’s quite possible. So, I’m saying we’re taking it one game at a time, and we’ll see at the end of the season, what’s in store for us.”
Qhekeka was previously on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and has scored 11 goals in 16 league appearances and 23 overall across all competitions inclusive of the Engen Cup. She says the question of how Chiefs has improved since the start of the campaign is evident in the results.
“So, in terms of the progression with the previous club I played for and my current club there is progression and growth compared to when we first started the season,” she added.
“Like you can see, I think it’s quite evident also, with the log standings and the unity within the team. In terms of competing, I feel like we are definitely there to be competing and the progression has been made and it’s quite evident.”
