Cedric Kaze’s future as Sekhukhune United head coach is in doubt after three successive defeats to Orlando Pirates.
Kaze was appointed as the head coach of the club in early July , with Papi Zothwane and Paulos Masehe as assistant coaches. The former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach and co-coach had a good pre-season where he won the 2026 Mafori Cup, which featured Venda FC, Polokwane City and Magesi FC.

Winning the Mafori Cup gave the club high hopes and they started the campaign with a 1-0 win over Durban City in the opening league match.
Babina Noko then secured a spot in the MTN8 semi-finals, defeating AmaZulu FC 4-3, but the game raised first eyebrows as they were leading 3-1 at some stage but ended up level at 3-3 before winning the game 4-3 in extra-time.
Since then, Babina Noko have blown hot and cold, suffering a 2-0 defeat against Kaizer Chiefs in the Betway Premiership, winning 2-0 against their rivals Polokwane City before suffering three straight defeats to Pirates this past week.
iDiski Times understands that Kaze’s future is in doubt as some in the club’s management have already lost hope in him.
Their next game against TS Galaxy is on Saturday, 5 September but they might pull the trigger on the Burundi international coach before this weekend.
Zothwane who was roped in alongside Kaze could take over on an interim basis alongside Masehe should Babina Noko decide to release Kaze this week.
