Kaizer Chiefs‘ first goal against Siwelele FC was correctly awarded, this is according to former PSL referee Victor Hlungwani.
Mfundo Vilakazi gave Amakhosi the lead in the 30th minute but it was the incident at the goalposts that enraged the Siwelele players who felt that Wandile Duba had fouled Thabiso Sesane.

“The Principal” has since argued that no foul was committed as it was a shoulder charge between Sesane and Duba which allowed the referee to award the goal as Chiefs ran out narrow 3-2 victors.
“Vilakazi scored the goal. You can see Vilakazi he’s chipping the ball nicely, but Sesane and Duba goes to challenge for the ball,” Hlungwani said on Soccerzone.
“So, when they challenge one another, we need to check was there a push. We don’t see a push.
“Was there charging an opponent? We don’t see charging an opponent
“We see players challenging for the ball. When players challenge for the ball, it depends who has power.
“Shoulder to shoulder challenge, so when they go to the net someone has to lose power there.
“Correct decision by the referee to award the goal.”
