AmaZulu FC striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya has reacted to being named the Betway Premiership Player of the Month.
The Zimbabwean forward earned the accolade after an impressive run of form that saw him score five goals in four matches for Usuthu, putting him at the top of the league’s scoring charts.
Ngwenya’s performances have also earned him a place in Zimbabwe’s preliminary squad for their upcoming matches against Sierra Leone and DR Congo.
Following the award, the striker expressed his gratitude to his teammates and AmaZulu’s technical team, crediting them for playing an important role in his success and recognition.
“I just want to say thank you for the award, also I want to thank my teammates and the technical team cause I wouldn’t do it without them,” he said.
“I do believe that they also contributed so much in this.”
Asked about Arthur Zwane’s challenge for him to score even more goals, Ngwenya said he does not view it as pressure, but rather as motivation to keep improving.
“Yeah, I know, it’s not like pressure but I will take each game as it is, and I will score each and every goal.”
