Mamelodi Sundowns winger Siyanda Ndlovu has revealed that Manqoba Mngqithi’s style of football played a key role in helping him settle at the Brazilians.

Before making the move to Sundowns, Ndlovu established himself as a standout performer at Golden Arrows, where he impressed under Mngqithi’s guidance.

The winger believes his experience at Arrows prepared him well for Sundowns’ playing philosophy, making the transition to his new club much easier.

“I think the type of football they play is the football I had played so much at Golden Arrows under coach Manqoba,” said Ndlovu on Ukhozi FM.

“So, when I arrived there, it wasn’t difficult because it’s almost the same as what I was playing at Arrows and I could click with other players.”

Ndlovu also spoke highly of Mngqithi, describing him as a father figure before a coach. He believes that personal relationship played an important role in helping him whenever he stepped onto the field during their time together at Arrows.

“Coach Manqoba was beyond being a coach, he was a father also,” he added.

“So, in a lot of things he guided us. He would deal with us outside before we got into the field.”
