Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana has parted ways with Esperance Sportive de Tunis with immediate effect.
The 27-year-old joined the Tunisian giants from Sekhukhune United back in 2024 in a deal worth a reported R7-million and went on to score seven goals, with four assists in 38 games in his debut season.
It led to a loan deal to the Saudi Pro League with Al Hazem and after the deal was not made permanent, the club has a full quota of foreign players, leaving Mokwana in a difficult position with the 2026/27 season is in full swing.
iDiski Times understands the player has now terminated his contract, parting ways amicably due to the registration dilemma with the club.
Having been linked to several clubs in North Africa and the Gulf in recent weeks, sources have stated Mokwana will ‘assess his options carefully’ before making the next crucial move of his career as he looks to get back into the senior national team set-up.
