Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz has revealed the major positive and concern from his side’s opening matches under his leadership.
The French coach was appointed to lead Amakhosi, replacing co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, who parted ways with the club at the end of last season.
The Phefeni Glamour Boys have played seven matches under Da Cruz in all competitions, winning three, drawing three and suffering one defeat.
They currently sit fourth in the league standings with 12 points from six matches.
Da Cruz says he is pleased that Chiefs have scored in every league match so far. Their only game without a goal came in the MTN8, where they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Golden Arrows.
Across all competitions, Chiefs have scored 12 goals but conceded eight, with the goals allowed emerging as a concern for the coach.
“For sure, I’m very happy that we’re scoring,” said Da Cruz.
“We just concede stupid goals, so we need to look forward. But we’re on the [right track] because every game we score.
“We’ll continue to attack and continue to develop our model game.”
