In a bizarre setting pre-match press conference on Christmas Day, which both Broos and Foster admitted was a strange feeling to be away from their families and be focusing on a major AFCON fixture.
“We did well [in the first game], on the other side, we all know what kind of team Egypt is, a very good team, seven-time AFCON winners, record holders, so that means something and they have some amazing players,” Broos said.
“[Mohamed] Salah, [Omar] Marmoush, we know them well but on the other side we’re confident again, but we’re looking forward to play that game of tomorrow.”
Foster echoed the sentiments of Broos saying the entire squad is brimming with confidence for the clash against the Pharaohs.
“The morale in camp is good, as the coach said, the first game was very important for us to get maxim points, it helped a lot now, going into the rest of the tournament, the morale of the camp is good, spirits are high, we’re confident and ready for the next game.”
