Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has admitted that they are closely monitoring Wydad Athletic Club striker Cassius Mailula’s progress.
Mailula seems to have found his form since joining Wydad on loan from Major League Soccer side Toronto FC, notching up two goals and five assists in 20 outings for the Botola Pro giants.

The 23-year-old missed the recent 2025 AFCON qualifiers due to lack of game time before moving to North Africa with Broos confirming that they are keeping tabs on the player ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the upcoming AFCON which will be hosted by Morocco in December.
“We following him, and again it’s very important that the last game he almost played 90 minutes so that means they are happy with him there,” Broos said.
