Kaizer Chiefs remained top of the DStv Diski Challenge log and Orlando Pirates suffered defeat while 10-man Stellenbosch FC conquered the Western Cape derby.

Mamelodi Sundowns kept the pressure on Chiefs after a 2-0 win over Bernard Parker’s TS Galaxy. Onela Rulwana netted a first-half goal from the penalty spot before Bennet Mokoena sealed the three points to see them move within one point behind leaders Chiefs. 

Marumo Gallants’ winless run extended to 16 matches after they suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to AmaZulu while Richards Bay narrowly edged Golden Arrows 1-0 in the KwaZulu-Natal derby.

Defending champions Stellies scored three unanswered goals against Cape Town City via Cheswyn Philander, Tonny Mbunga and substitute Tauric Gamildien despite Faiz Abrahams being shown a red card for the Cape Winelands outfit.

Orlando Pirates continued their inconsistency as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Lizo Mjempu’s Sekhukhune United. The Buccaneers remain seventh in the league table and 12 points.

Matsatsantsa beat Magesi FC 2-0 after they scored in the second half through Matsio and Ramunasi to clinch all three points.
