Dortley Aims To Bring Back Glory Days At Chiefs

Bafana Bafana defender Rushwin Dortley is hoping to continue his good club form and aid Kaizer Chiefs bring the back glory days in order to stake his claim in the national team.

Bafana have already secured their ticket at next year’s AFCON in Morocco with a game to spare with South African players now looking to fight it out in order to be part of the final squad that will represent South Africa.

The towering Kaizer Chiefs centre-back understands that just because you were part of the squad during the AFCON qualifiers doesn’t guarantee you a spot in the team for AFCON as you must still perform well at club level.

The Amakhosi man explained that he aims to bring back glory days at his club and continue doing what he has been doing and hopefully that will secure his place in the Bafana squad that will go do battle at AFCON 2025.

“For you be selected in every camp you have to perform at club level,” Dortley tod the media.

“You can’t expect to be in a team when the team qualified and expect going to AFCON.

“You have to perform at club level, your team has to do good in order for you to be chosen again for AFCON.

“So, I think for me it’s to stay consistent at club level and do what I’ve been doing and help Kaizer Chiefs reach things they haven’t reached in the past and to bring glory days back to the club.
