The Confederation of African Football have revealed the drawing pots and details of the draw for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The draw will take place in Egypt at 14:00 SAST, with Bafana Bafana placed in pot 1 alongside the continent’s strongest nations.

A total of 48 teams will participate in the qualifiers, with the draw producing 12 groups, with 24 teams to qualify for the finals. The top two from each group will qualify, and in groups containing the co-hosts Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania an additional team will qualify.
Tuesday’s highly anticipated draw will be conducted by African football greats Max-Alain Gradel (Cote d’Ivoire), William Troost-Ekong (Nigeria), Essam El Hadary (Egypt) and Trésor Mputu (DR Congo).

The tournament will be played from 19 June to 17 July 2027 and marks the long-awaited return of the continental showpiece to East Africa for the first time in 51 years as Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania act as co-hosts.
