Former PSL referee Victor Hlungwani has cleared up the confusion around Kaizer Chiefs winger Glody Lilepo’s sending off in their win over AmaZulu this past weekend.
The Glamour Boys picked up a vital 1-0 win over Usuthu at Moses Mabhida Stadium to move to 54 points with third place and CAF Confederation Cup football for next season already sealed.

The biggest talking point of the match was the Congolese international going from hero to villain in a split second.
Lilepo was given his first yellow card by referee Christopher Kistoor in the 52nd minute for simulation when he dived in the penalty area by trying to deceive the referee to award a spot kick.
In the 68th minute, he connected well with Mfundo Vilakazi to give Amakhosi the lead in what would the winner.
Emotions got better of the Chiefs attacker as he celebrated with the supporters by removing his jersey but was flashed with a second yellow card upon his return to the pitch and then a red card for his dismissal.
Social media went ablaze after the match with some section of the fans questioning why he was red carded for merely just taking off his shirt, which has thus prompted Hlungwani to dissect the incident.
“Lilepo there getting a second yellow card, for what? For removing the t-shirt,” ‘The Principal’ explained on Soccerzone.

“Now when he removes the t-shirt, getting a yellow card, [his teammates] tried to cover him.
“After getting the first yellow [for simulation], second yellow [is a send off].
“So, correct decision by the referee to give a red card.”
