Bafana Bafana defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi has been named in the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 14 after helping his side secure a 2-0 away win over CF Montreal and is also in the running to make the MLS All-Star Game.
The South African international is also currently among the leading vote-getters for the upcoming Major League Soccer (MLS) All-Star Game.

Mbokazi was nominated alongside teammate and goalkeeper Chris Brady, who also put in an impressive performance.
Meanwhile, Chicago Fire teammate Philip Zinckernagel made the Team of the Matchday as a substitute.
Mbokazi and Brady were instrumental in keeping a clean sheet on the road as Chicago picked up their second consecutive victory.
This marks Mbokazi’s second Team of the Matchday recognition this season, following a bench selection on Matchday 7 for a heroic goal-line save.
Since joining the club from Orlando Pirates at the start of the year, the defender has made 13 appearances across all competitions, helping keep six clean sheets.
His stellar form has placed him in contention for the MLS All-Star Game, where a fan-voted XI will form part of the 26-man roster to face the LIGA MX All-Stars on July 29 at Charlotte FC’s Bank of America Stadium.
