Two DStv Premiership goalkeepers, in Ronwen Williams for Bafana Bafana and Stanley Nwabali for Nigeria, are leading the clean sheet ranking at the African Cup Of Nations so far.
Williams didn’t start the tournament well after conceding two goals in the opening match in Group E against Mali.
But the two goals against Eagles was the last time the Bafana captain had to grab the ball out of the net at the current AFCON – since then he kept three cleans sheets.
Meanwhile, Nwabali has also been superb for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, as he only conceded one goal in the campaign, which was against Equatorial Guinea.
It was unfortunate that he couldn’t finish the Round of 16 game against Cameroon, as he was substituted after suffering an injury.
The Chippa United goalkeeper kept three clean sheets out of four matches they played.
- Stanley Nwabali (Nigeria) – 3 clean sheets
- Ronwen Williams (South Africa) – 3 clean sheets
- Bono (Morocco) – 2 clean sheets
- Djigui Diarra (Mali) – 2 clean sheets
- Lloyd Kazapua (Namibia) – 2 clean sheets
- Ibrahim Kone (Guinea) – 2 clean sheets
- Edouard Mendy (Senegal) – 2 clean sheets
- Neblu (Angola) – 2 clean sheets
- Vozinha (Cape Verde) – 2 clean sheets
