Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster is gradually stepping up his full recovery from injury after featuring for four minutes in Burnley’s Boxing Day victory after two months on the sidelines.
Foster suffered a knee injury during the 2024 African Cup Of Nations qualifiers in October against Congo Brazzaville in a 5-0 win in Gqeberha.
Since then, he has missed 13 games, during which Burnley has managed to win seven, drawing five, and losing only one. The 24-year-old has scored one goal and provided one assist this season.
Last season, he had a goal contribution for Scott Parker’s side even though they ended up getting relegated.
He made his return on Boxing Day after a long-term injury and was introduced in the 86th minute as The Clarets collected three points away from home, beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-0.
They now sit third in the Championship league table with 47 points, one point behind league leaders Leeds United.
Their next game is against Middlesbrough on Sunday, 29 December at the Riverside Stadium.
