Ngezana Attracts Interest From England & Italy

Bafana Bafana and FCSB defender has reportedly attracted interest from English League One side Birmingham City and Serie A side Lecce FC.

Ngezana, 27, has had a stellar career rise since completing a move from Kaizer Chiefs to Romanian giants FCSB at the beginning of the 2023/24 season. He won the league title as well as the Super Cup in his first campaign and was also named Defender and Best Foreign Player of the Season.

The former Chiefs defender also helped Bafana Bafana qualify for the AFCON, which will take place in Morocco at the end of this year.

Romanian publication Digi Sport reported that Ngezana has attracted interest from both Lecce and Birmingham City, and they are both willing to pay the required fee by the outspoken club president Gigi Becali.

Any potential sale could become lucrative for his former club, as Chiefs are understood to hold a 10% sell-on fee for the towering defender, with his current contract with FCSB only expiring in June 2027.

Ngezana, who has an exclusive interview in edition 186 of the iDiski Times e-paper, has made 22 appearances in his second campaign for FCSB, but has been riddled by a few minor injuries.
