Bafana Bafana defender Siyabonga Ngezana doesn’t know what the future holds for him at FCSB but is determined to focus on AFCON.
Ngezana is in his third season at FCSB after completing a move from Kaizer Chiefs at the beginning of 2023/24. Since his arrival at FCSB, he has won defender of the season back-to-back also winning best foreign defender.
He also played a huge role in FCSB winning back-to-back league titles and back-to-back Romanian Super Cup titles. Ngezana missed some games this season due to injury and will miss more games as he will be going to AFCON with Bafana Bafana.
His last comments on Fanatik after FCSB win over Eredivisie side Fayenoord raised eyebrows as he stated that he doesn’t know if he will return to FCSB after the AFCON in Morocco.
“The criticism didn’t really affect me. This is the job of a footballer. You have to be mentally strong. These kinds of matches build character. What happens has to stay in the locker room,” Ngezana said according to Fanatik.
“I don’t know if I will still be an FCSB player after AFCON. We never know what the future holds. We’ll see. My focus right now is on the Africa Cup of Nations.
“I wish the team success in the remaining matches, and I hope we make the play-offs.”
