Morocco coach Walid Regragui has confirmed that star player Sofiane Boufal will miss Tuesday match against Bafana Bafana and likely for the tournament.
Morocco face Bafana in the last sixteen of the tournament on Tuesday evening in San Pedro, Ivory Coast.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Regragui delivered the Sofiane news, and also said that Hakim Ziyech is touch and go.
“We’re going to confirm Sofiane’s AFCON is over, he won’t be able to play due to injury unless a miracle comes,” Regragui said on Monday at the press conference.
“Hakim the same, he’s got an ankle injury from Zambia, if there’s a chance he can play, we’ll take it to play against South Africa.
“The decision will be made at the last second.”
