The South Africa national under-23 football team will either face Comoros or Madagascar in the 2027 AFCON Qualifiers draw conducted on Tuesday.
This means their qualification gets underway in Round 2 in two-legged ties after being placed in the highest-ranked pot and exempted from the first round.

The first leg is scheduled for 9 November 2026 with the return leg set for 17 November 2026.
Should they progress from Round 2, their Round 3 fixtures will also be two-legged ties with the first leg kicking off on 22 March 2027 and second leg 30 March 2027.

Next year’s continental showpiece also serves as qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA, from July 14 to July 30.
